As there is a great need for dog owners to have areas in which to recreate, and as it is our right, as fully involved, tax paying citizens of this city, to have our recreational requirements represented, we the undersigned petition the city of New York to install an enclosed well-designed dog park in the lot between Clarkson and Hudson Sts (water tunnel site 28B) no less than 15,000 square feet with a separate run for small dogs and a “ball run.”
I have spent my mornings watching our neighbors struggle to find space for their dogs while dodging traffic on these busy streets. This project remains the only way I can see to fix this danger for my own pup and the rest of our local community.

Seeing this community rally around the empty lot at Clarkson and Hudson fills me with hope for our neighborhood dogs. I initially doubted anyone else felt the same urgency for a safe space, but your enthusiasm proves we have the momentum to finally get this project on the city's radar.

Living in this neighborhood is impossible with a dog. Nowhere to let him run. This lot has been empty forever just do it already.

Finally someone said it. The empty space is just sitting there collecting trash when it could be something actually useful for us.
