We, the students of Northern Academy, respectfully request the opportunity to vote on a petition regarding the current hairstyle restrictions at our school.

As young African men and women, our hair is an important part of our identity, culture, and self-expression. It serves as a source of confidence, and with confidence we are able to achieve far more—academically, socially, and personally.

We believe that allowing greater freedom of hairstyle choices will not only uplift our community but also foster inclusivity, self-esteem, and pride among learners.

We kindly ask that our voices be heard and that this petition be considered for the benefit of the entire Northern Academy community.

Respectfully,
The Students of Northern Academy

I'm signing this petition because sir Ellias is always making comments about our hair saying I should cut it down, because from my opinion... Making us cut our hair down won't affect my academics

The people in charge of our school should try to accommodate our different cultures and let us embrace our African root as the restrictions force some learners to change their natural hair to fit the schools standards

I completely support this, Schools should review hairstyle rules to be more inclusive of students' cultural and personal styles. Flexible policies help students feel comfortable being themselves. This promotes respect and inclusivity among students and staff.Hair is not just hair! It's our identity it shapes us as people

We, students of Northern Academy, need to have the freedom of having our hair the way we want it to be. Teachers constantly telling us to keep it the way they want it to be really brings down our confidence and therefore, we struggle to feel good about going to school and that can really affect the way we perform at school.

We should be given the freedom to express ourselves in the school,Because it’s not like our hair has anything to do with the learning process and for some learners ,hair is part of their cultural practice and or tradition
