I honestly cannot believe I am typing this but the school board officially scrapped the tier plans and we actually won. My brain is still spinning because I really thought they were going to ignore us but they heard us loud and clear. We should definitely keep paying attention to …
I am opposed to the proposed reorganization of the Marshall Public Elementary Schools (2-tier or 3-tier system) for the 2013-14 school year, as explained at the MPS School Board Meeting on January 14, 2013. I feel that this reorganization would negatively impact my child's (children's) education, and it would be a hardship on my family. The MPS School Board needs to thoroughly investigate all other cost saving alternatives to meet the 2013-14 MPS budget before taking steps to dismantle our current elementary educational system.
I never thought we would see this kind of momentum when I first started typing this out in my kitchen during a complete panic. People are finally starting to listen and it feels like the school board might actually have to acknowledge that they cannot just upend our lives without a real conversation.

TOTAL LACK OF PLANNING. FIX THE BUDGET WITHOUT RUINING THE SCHOOLS. MY KIDS ARE NOT JUST NUMBERS ON A SPREADSHEET.

Need to look at the admin salaries first before touching the classrooms. This seems like the easy way out for the board.

How about cutting the waste instead of the services our children rely on? Do better.

This plan is a disaster for working families. My kids are settled and doing well. Stop changing everything every single year!

The commute alone is gonna be a nightmare with this 3-tier nonsense. Please listen to the parents for once.
