My friends parents live there and they’ve had to move out 6 times due to the flooding. There’s a lot of elderly people who live there and it’s causing them stress and worry which is very concerning as making them ill with it. Please can you look into this as there must be a solution.
i have been on to NRW several times ,about the neddern and a few weeks before this NRW came down to castle lodge close and took photos so i thought things might get done ,but nothing happened once again and then on xmas eve it burst it,s banks and ended in our garden ,
Problem is becoming all too frequent, the current drainage system simply cannot cope. Increased development off church road feeds I believe into the existing system. The systems cannot cope, how can this be allowed to happen.
There is definitely a problem. I used to walk the dogs on the field before the houses were built and never saw flooding and the scale it has reached now is disastrous. If something is not done before all the new homes are added to above church road on the field area, the Castle Lea residents won't have homes left!
This is a real worry for many families. People who are already stressed enough with everything that is happening - it is about time that something is done. Council need to raise their game and remember that delivering a couple of sandbags per house is totally inadequate. Prevention is required not a pathetic sticking plaster!
My son uses the football pitch with Caldicot Castle Football Club. Football is detrimental to many children's mental, physical and social development. Keeping them fit, healthy and safe from other, sometimes dangerous and anti-social, unsupervised activities. With the progressively deeper floods each year, the football pitch is unavailable for many weeks of the year. The Clubhouse has been flooded several times. The effect on the residents of Castle Lea area can be catastrophic. I appreciate new houses need to be built near the town. If there are any actions that can improve the problem, which residents within the town can participate in, then this needs to be shared and implemented.
Please sort this out before it gets any worse. We can’t live each year like this worrying what devastation the rain will bring next.

Parents have moved out 3 Times over last 13 years while the ground floor was dried out, rebuilt & replaced most furniture over 6 months each time... due to flooding. It’s a recurrent problem... needs a full investigation & published findings!
