The reach of this petition reflects a significant consensus regarding the necessity of the flood alleviation works. This growing momentum reinforces our collective insistence that the government must address the funding shortfall immediately.

Marlow homes were severely hit by flood this year, with many underwater or inaccessible. This government needs to action this already-approved flood protection scheme THIS year, before the next winter brings more disruption & cost to the town.

Please find the extra funding necessary to put in place the flood alleviation scheme. The inclusion of the ground water flood pumps along Pound Lane are a necessity. Kind regards.

As a Marlow resident and seeing how many people were impacted by the recent floods, I feel quite strongly that measures need to be put in place to ensure that the chances of this happening again are minimised. Even people I know that do not live very close to the river did or nearly suffered damage to their properties.

Having seen the stress, general mess and pollution that the floods caused members of my family over the Christmas and New Year period, I urge the authorities to find the money to provide adequate flood defences to prevent recurrence of such flooding episodes.

The plans for this scheme have been in place since 2010. Planning permission will expire in July 2015. Please help the cause of those people affected by the flooding this year as well as those who could be flooded in the future.

I wholeheartedly support this campaign. Marlow has fundraised as a community for this project and now desperately needs the Government's help to meet the shortfall in funding to prevent the flooding happening again. The devastation and stress caused by homes and businesses being flooded is immeasurable.
