Our direct link to the city and Milton Keynes Central station needs major improvements.

We need new lights on the bridge to enhance the safety of those walking and cycling across after dark.

We are aware of antisocial behaviour on the station plaza that makes people crossing the bridge vulnerable especially with inadequate lighting.

The surface is uneven and a lamppost between two bollards on the Loughton side is ill-arranged creating difficulties for bikes and mobility aids, this should be rectified.

Discussions with Milton Keynes City Council over the 6+ years have lead to nothing, help us raise the importance of this issue by signing this petition.

Many thanks,

Beatrice

Vice Chair, Loughton Residents Association.

I never thought I would see this much traction considering how many years I spent just shouting into the void about these lights. It is honestly surreal to see so many people agreeing that the bridge is a disaster because I really thought I was the only one losing my mind over that ill placed bollard.

Some lights have just been installed on the bridge section over the railway but these only light a small area and therefore make little difference. The solution used needs to rolled out across the full length of both bridges.

These bridges and the paths on the Loughton side get so dark. It’s very intimidating if coming home from work in the dark.

When I was pregnant and walking back from work on that bridge I was twice nearly hit by a bike because of the insufficient visibility.

This bridge is unusable in the dark, nothing can be seen when you set off to walk across. Cameras as well as lights are needed. Why is the council not doing something about this?

This bridge is very badly lit, with the few existing lights actually causing glare to pedestrians to make it harder to see what's ahead. Been a problem for years and needs urgent improvement.

This is long overdue and so dangerous to be walking home on a literal trip hazard once it is dark.

It really is time to sort this out.

It’s a mess and feels abandoned. Not difficult to solve, Amos why has it been ignored for so long?
