They say they want to attract visitors to our downtown but they allowed a McDonald's at our gateway and are now considering a Taco Bell. Would you travel to another city to eat at a fast-food joint? The massive surge of interest tells me this community is finished with fast food taking over our downtown. Post this link on your Facebook wall today. Send a text to three friends and tell them to meet us at the next city council meeting.

i don't understand why Watsonville is not interested in the health of its community? Diabetes is a major health factor in Watsonville. Health is more important than money.
I don't want to go to a 4 year university and get a degree if the only jobs or food available here are only fast food. We should making change instead of mc chickens at the minimum wage.
You can get fast food anywhere, including the school lunches served in Watsonville, so why add to the problem? Show tourists that you care enough about the city and the people who live there to create a downtown that celebrates their culture with healthy, authentic food options. It's in the middle of the county's supposed "salad bowl" after all.
I heard that the environmental impact report they're using for their drive through, is the original report they did for the Walgreens drive through that was supposed to go there...not quite the same.
Drive-thru restaurants encourage people to drive right through our town. More fast food is bad for our health, bad for our economy, and bad for our reputation. Enough!
We have too many fast food joints in Watsonville already. Enough is enough!

There is tremendous energy behind bringing new jobs and opportunities to Watsonville. The short sighted planning of fast food degrades the entire downtown strip from what could be a hub of local businesses to drive throughs. Not to mention the health benefits. This is not how to plan a thriving city! Please stop!
