We the undersigned petition the State of West Virginia to make an early decision as to the route of the 340S expansion from Charles Town to Virginia line. Homeowners, landowners and small business owners are being held hostage to the continued delays in making a final decision on the road route and cannot sell, refinance or improve their properties. We ask that a route be chosen that totally bypasses all businesses and residences and does not destroy the peace and tranquility of present residents. Homes were allowed to be built in the direct path of the proposed expansion of the road by the Jefferson County Planning Commission. We ask that a decision be made and no homes taken that were allowed in the known path of the road nor the peace of those homes effected. In addition we ask that the State immediately pass full protection for land buyers that includes full disclosure and that emminent domain no longer be allowed in the State.

The state officials are finally starting to feel the heat because this momentum proves they cannot keep us in limbo forever. They think they can ignore our property rights while stalling on this highway mess but our collective anger is forcing them into a corner.

Ridiculous how long this has been going on. We have been waiting for years to make upgrades to our place but we are stuck in limbo because of the state.

Total incompetence. Government just keeps us in the dark. Leave the neighborhoods alone!

Seriously jefferson county planning commission needs to be held accountable for approving homes in the path. Poor planning on their end is costing us everything.

Stop holding us hostage. Just choose the route and stop destroying our lives.

my property value is tanking because nobody wants to buy a house that might be flattened in 5 years. pick a path and be done with it already.
