As residents of Lehi City and particularly the Bull River Road area and the adjacent areas south of SR-92, we are very concerned with the expansion of SR-92 as proposed by UDOT. Our concerns with the proposed highway expansion plan which calls for building the new 6-lanes to the south of the present highway include:
1. The affect on our home and property values
2. The aesthetic value of our neighborhood will be ruined with the planned raised highway
3. The affect on our quality of life
4. Increase in noise and air pollution
5. Safety risks due to increased traffic along Bull River Road and on SR-92
As established property owners and taxpayers in Lehi, we want our proposals to be considered on an equal or preferential basis with the future commercial developments of Traverse Mountain. We hereby petition UDOT to make the following concessions and changes in the proposed highway plan.
1. Build the lane expansions to the north of the present road. Any expansion to the south will place the road dangerously close to the present homes and neighborhoods and is not acceptable.
2. Build the proposed expressway below grade level. All intersections must be grade level. This is the only solution to lessen visual impact.
3. Limited access to the new highway. Remove the north access roads at the proposed 1000 West and the 500 West/Center points. There is no need for four access points from 1200 West to Center Street.
4. Document and include in the master plan the addition of sound walls along with landscaping, berms, green areas and mature trees to absorb pollution and act as sound barriers.
5. Implement the best options at 1200 West or 1500 West that will restrict traffic on Bull River Road and prevent it from becoming a busy thoroughfare.
6. Prohibit any commercial development south of the proposed highway and Bull River Road.
Your support can make a difference. We must present our concerns and demands to UDOT as soon as possible before final decisions are made and it becomes too late to affect any changes in the expansion of SR-92.
This petition will be emailed to our elected officials and UDOT by May 15, 2008. If you support these efforts to maintain the quality of life in our neighborhood by limiting the impact of the proposed expansion of SR-92, please add your signature and comments below.
UDOT cannot ignore this surge of opposition any longer. We have built enough momentum to prove that our neighborhood will not be steamrolled for the convenience of commercial developers.

They act like we dont even live here. Move the expansion north where there are no homes. Sick of being ignored by planners.

Why do they always prioritize commercial stuff over people who actually live in this city? Keep it below grade or dont do it at all.

UDOT needs to listen to us. We pay taxes here too. Moving the expansion south is a huge mistake for our property values.
