As an employer of trainees Kinetic IT are very supportive of the changes proposed. by offering more diversity in the educational pathways in VET sector, we are able to offer a broader range of employment opportunities, and to a more diverse group of individuals.
Employability in the fast changing ICT environment requires real life work experience and skills. Small business( and their clients) can not afford to spend money to pay award wages to a new graduate employee that has to be trained to real life work environment performance.
The more ways to enable people to gain access to quality training as an entry point, pathway to or furthering a career in IT, the better off the WA IT industry will be in the long run.
Please have more traineeship for next yr.
this would provide much more flexibility in learning within the IT Industry
As a former student an initiative like this would've been immense during my studies, I would like to see this progress for future students
Diversifying the traineeship pathways allows the IT industry broader access to un-tapped talent, career entry pathways and developing skills organically through education and hands on learning. Traineeships are valuable to the success of emerging talent, and creating diversity among the workforce. The IT industry can benefit greatly from a stronger interaction with relevant traineeship pathways and programs.

Additionally traineeship would offer students that are not academically inclined the same opportunities as others. Additionally it provides small business greater opportunities who do not have the budgets to afford bachelor or higher students in the market.
