Final supporters
There are two proposed developments.
One at Morgan Farms. This Development will consist of commercial businesses, townhomes, and single family homes on one tenth of an acre.
The Second proposed development is at 278 and 142 across the street from east side high school. This development would consist of commercial properties at the entrance, townhomes and single family homes on tenth of an acre lots.
between these two developments there will be over 600 homes and 3000 residents.
The starting price for these single family homes is $415,000. This will drive home values for existing homes in the area up inturn raising your property taxes.
Our schools are already at full capacity. These developments will over burden the school system harming the education and safety your children deserve.
These developments will increase traffic astronomically not only from the 3000 residents living there but from the vehicle and tractor trailer traffic the commercial business will bring.
The environmental effects of these developments could be extremely detrimental to the surrounding properties. not only will they greatly affect the wildlife in the area they will change the watershed which could put your home in a flood zone. ( If your home is in a flood zone mortgage companies will require flood insurance on top of your existing homeowners insurance )

I met with local officials this week to discuss how these six hundred homes will impact our schools and infrastructure. Call the Newton Commissioners today and tell them our roads and classrooms cannot handle this density. Post this link on your Facebook page so the rest of the neighborhood understands the real cost of these developments.

We are already bursting at the seams in this county. The roadways can barely hand the traffic as it is. The schools can’t even keep up with the class sizes and doesn’t have the financial means to hire more help. Whose pockets are we lining by the influx of development?
The new Eastside is already overcrowded. Indian Creek Middle is overcrowded. Our county does not have enough police officers or EMS to serve our county as it is...do not add 3,000 more residents!
Approving these developments will move us closer to just becoming another overcrowded metropolitan Atlanta suburb. It will also continue to erode the beautiful, pristine and historic values of our county.
We moved to the Eastside of the county years ago because it was less developed , you built a new high school because the other one was overcrowded, now you want to build more subdivisions and apartments so more people will move to thi s area and over crowd the new school, more traffic,ect
Our schools are over crowded, infrastructure is stretched to the max and our first responders are overwhelmed. Newton County doesn’t need this type of growth. Look at Conyers as an example of what NOT to do.
Think the whole thing sounds awful and will ruin the way of life we love about living here.
We moved here because we wanted to live in a rural environment. These changes would totally change that and not for the better!

We live in Bridgemill subdivision and I am a teacher in Newton County. These developments would negatively impact the schools, traffic, housing, property, infrastructure, etc. WE DO NOT NEED ANYMORE HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS. Our infrastructure cannot support it.
