The 2800 block of Echodale avenue is regularly plagued by traffic traveling at an excessive speed and encroaching on parking lanes, often resulting in damage to parked vehicles and personal/public property along the stretch of road.
We (residents of Echodale Ave and other concerned citizens) would like to see various traffic calming measures put in place to reduce the speed and reckless nature of vehicles traveling along the corridor. Some of these measures include:
- Removing the M-F 4-6pm parking restriction on the eastbound side.
- Protecting both eastbound and westbound parking lanes with physical barriers such as large planters and other objects utilized in tactical urbanism.
- Re-striping of the 2800 stretch of road to widen the westbound parking lane, and, reduce traffic to two lanes.

I was out on the porch earlier watching a silver sedan fly past the curb way faster than anyone should be going in a neighborhood and it just reminded me why we started this whole mess in the first place. The city has been quiet but reading the stories you all have been posting about the mirrors getting clipped and the constant stress of just walking to a car is really keeping me going even when it feels like we are shouting into the void.

Echodale between Perring and Harford is dangerous and difficult to cross as a pedestrian, or to make a left turn onto in a car. People regularly drive way over the speed limit. I support traffic calming/speed control measures on this road.
We've personally had vehicles struck six times, two vehicles being totaled while parked on Echodale in four years. Additionally, guests have had vehicles struck four separate times, one of which was totaled. People coming in the eastbound direction around Elsrode Ave, and westbound from Harford road easily double the speed limit at all times of day.
It's like the Indenapolis Speedway. Something should be done. There is a bad accident today by Herring Run and Echodale 04/17/2021.
Scares me to death to visit my son! Trying to back out of his drive is so dangerous and forget parking on the street and crossing! Definitely need this!
I used to live off of Echodale and had my car hit several times while parked on the street (once totaling a vehicle).
I live very close by and find it's hard to make a turn onto Echodale from side streets, partly because the cars coming across Echodale are going so fast. I support this.
No one obeys speed limit! So dangerous. Speed cameras would help

We just moved into Echodale. It’s shocking how fast people fly along. I think some strategic planters would be great to slow people down and protect the parked cars.
