We the undersigned request that you do NOT change the time bars are required to close from 4am to 2am. The current closing time allowed for bars and restaurants that serve alcoholic beverages is 4am in Erie County. There is currently a proposal to force all bars in Erie County to close at 2am. We the undersigned oppose this change.

Reaching twenty-five hundred signatures confirms that many of us value the current culture of our local nightlife. This milestone reminds me that our community clearly prefers the flexibility offered by our existing hours.

As a resident of Buffalo for 11 years I have to say this would be a sad mistake for a lot of businesses and the development of the downtown area. Also the students at all the local colleges provide much needed revenue at those hours for a lot of local business.

I like visiting and staying over in Buffalo because of its wonderful night live an extended bar hours. It is one of the bigger attractions in upstate New York. Closing the bars earlier would certainly deter me from visiting Buffalo as often as I do.

I know its been said 1001 times but here it goes again. I work late and by the time i get out of work im bored until im ready to fall asleep because guess what? Everythings closed! Please rethink this law and pass it for the sake of humanity.

Changing the closing time will only set Buffalo back instead of allowing it to grow as a city. Furthermore, it is not going to prevent drunk driving incidents, it will only make them occur earlier in the evening when there are more people on the road.

Not only do the late hours contribute to a baseline profit margin for all of our cities nightlife, it has set us apart as a city that musicians love for our atmosphere and ability to create a setting where entertainment runs itself and is less restricted.

As a local musician, this hurts my business! The arts thrive at 3 AM, and it would probably encourage illegal after-hours clubs and other less-regulated enterprises to fill the void in our nights. That translates directly to tax dollars.

Some people get out of work late. This would not be fair to them.

This will solve absolutely nothing, but will adversely affect owners and employees in the hospitality industry.
