DiCapo's Cookies has been denied for 2 years the right to sell our wonderful, Kansas City made cookies at our city market because the management of the market and the city planners decided it would be a conflict with carollo's Italian store which sells a few cookies made in NYC.There are many other weekend bakeries from all over Mo and Ks that sell cookies at the market and directly compete with Bloom Bakery a year round tenant but the market management has singled out DiCapo's for some reason and we feel this is unfair and needs to be changed.We hope you will sign our petition and show the city of KC that the locals who have supported the city and the market for over 100 years deserve the right to sell our products in our market.

We are approaching one hundred signatures which is the threshold required to trigger a formal review by the City Market oversight committee. Focus your efforts on moving this total past that mark before I submit the documentation to the board next week.

The Board of Directors at City Market need a history lesson. Denying the DiCapo family a license to sell cookies is inconceivable to me. It is an insult the DiCapo name. Carl DiCapo has done more to promote KC than anybody.
Not allowing DiCapo's homemade cookies anywhere in KC while allowing those from outsiders is like bringing in BBQ from outside of KC to compete. They tried it - it failed. We want DiCapo's
This is truly unfair. You have many produce sellers at different stalls. You are a city market and should not stop anyone selling their food. I would rather buy locally baked goods than those made in New York. Do your tenants have to sign a non compete clause? Shame on you.
It makes no sense , using the excuse they already have one person selling cookies already , as I recall there are several people selling apples and banana's , my point exactly !!!
Kinda’ confused.. a long standing city business, family owned & operated, gladly paying city taxes each year... what’s the problem? Being fair is ‘free’ & is true ‘good’ business

Granted I can't bake my own anymore since my handicaps, but what hasn't changed in my life is that I will only spend my money where I'm given choices - true freedom is having choices and my Italian great-grandparents came to this country so I would have choices! Bring on the Italian cookie choices!
