As many of you have seen on the news and read in the paper, Cruchelow Jewelry & Loan is a new business to the Kennesaw Community. There has been some uproar about the fact that they are in all essence a pawn shop. The fact of the matter is that one neighborhood in our city is dictating the preference for the masses through an ordinance with city council in 2004 stating what kind of businesses WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED in the strip mall that Cruchelow Jewelry & Loan has opened in. They lumped them into "undesirables" such as adult book stores, massage parlors, and pawn shops. The Cruchelows were unaware of this ordinance and followed every letter of policy and procedure when it came to obtaining permits, city council approval, and licensing. Now the city council and the mayor are threatening to shut them down because of a mistake they and the developer of the property made. This petition is to give them the right to work and maintain their business at its current location.
