- How will the accessibility of marijuana increase the use of drugs amongst our youth?

There are a lot of questions about the impact a marijuana dispensary will have on our community. If you are unsure or have any questions about long term effects, please sign this petition in support of delaying the decision until substantial data can be made available to the general public about the impact it will have on our community.

By signining this petition, you are asking the Valdez Zoning and Commision Board and Valdez City Council Members to make a decision to delay the permit access for the distrubution of marijuana for a minimum of 1 year. With a request to the City of Valdez to engage in an impact study on marijuana distrubution.

I have been hearing from so many of you who worry about what this means for our kids and the future of Valdez. We are currently preparing to present these valid concerns to the City Council so they cannot ignore the need for a proper impact study.

Seeing this kind of traction reminds me exactly why I started this fight for my family and our neighbors. It is clear that we are not the only ones worried about the future of Valdez and what this will mean for our children.

As a Law Enforcement Officer I believe allowing this is much more trouble than it's worth. What comes with it will be far worse than just making a sell. Please consider the families, children, and decent Valdez citizens. Marijuana in no way is positive, or constructive. Marijuana is not productive towards society, bettering our future, or building it.
I am definitely for delaying this until we can get more information. As a mother will my children be safe from potentially more drivers under the influence? What will be a negative or positive impact this will have on our youth? Will we need to make stricter laws on people feeding under age children food with marijuana in it?
Delay the marihuana zoning desicion until questions are properly addressed and a detailed analysis of the social and economic impact is completed.
I don't care if people want to smoke this, but I don't want a dispensary allowing EASIER access to it right in the middle of town. My kids, your kids, all of them. Do Not need this.
I agree that there needs to be more discussions about location. The kids in our town will always see that building as the ice cream shop. When/ if the OPEN sign turns on for this building to be used it needs to be WELL marked. I would hate for children to enter thinking the ice cream shop is back. Tough topic for all.

I surely don't want to see it here in our town! My daughter was raised here and now my Grandson! Take pride in it being our fishing town not our drug town.
