What is happening?

A Conditional Use application (File #: TC 2/26) has been submitted to open a Cannabis Retail Store right in the heart of our community at 75 & 77 Main Street. Main Street is the central path our children and youth walk and ride their bikes every day; it is where they hang out with their friends and gather as a community.

While our youth already navigate the presence of a local bar on this same street, adding a cannabis storefront only compounds that exposure. Bringing another adult-only substance venue to the dead center of Teulon normalizes these influences to young eyes and introduces an unnecessary environment of temptation into their daily lives.

As a local pastor from New Life Church Teulon and a member of this community, I care deeply about the moral and spiritual environment we are creating for the next generation. Our children should be able to enjoy our downtown core without being prematurely exposed to adult vices. I started this petition because I believe we have a sacred duty to protect the innocence of our youth. Please join me in standing up for Teulon's families and urging Council to deny this application.

Who can help?

Every resident, parent, property owner, and person of faith in the Town of Teulon who believes we have a sacred, moral responsibility to protect the innocence of the next generation. We need a united community voice to show local leadership that our children's well-being must come before commercial interests.

What should they do?

  1. Sign this petition right now to formally register your objection.
  2. Share this link with your neighbors, friends, and church community to build a wall of support.
  3. Attend the public hearing in person on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Town Hall (44 Fourth Avenue S.E.) to stand together as Town Council considers this application. Your physical presence speaks volumes!

I’m not worried about my kids being tempted…we teach them well, but I don’t want them being part of a community where everyone else is SO enthralled with the idea of even more adult substances in circulation….even if it’s legal. Not everything that’s been legal in history has been good 🙄

The town is too small for another Cannabis Store. There is a school just down the street and they should not have to walk past this kind of establishment every day.

In a small town where one cannabis store already exists- I don't see the need for another. I would rather see something brought to this town that benefits our youth not hinder it.

Type youth have enough problems in the world and putting a Cannabis shop on the Main Street with just add another problem . Having it on a side street is a better idea. That way it is not so exposed to everyone.

While the current cannabis retailer serves the community, introducing a second one may not align with the town's broader needs. Instead, focusing on initiatives that benefit the youth, such as a recreational center, could provide more substantial and positive impacts for Teulon.
