Siân Elliott the owner of sweet cakes cheadle Stockport is fighting for a crossing along wilmslow road as she has witnessed a number of potential accidents. The school children need a safe place to cross as do the elderley and people with prams, cheadle needs this in place before a serious accident occurs on this very busy and dangerous road.
The local council continues to ignore the constant near-misses on Wilmslow Road while our neighbors and children risk their lives every single day. I am tired of waiting for their permission to stop a tragedy that is clearly coming if they refuse to put a crossing here. We are going to keep pushing until they stop hiding behind bureaucratic excuses and act.

The momentum we have built proves the council can no longer ignore this death trap on Wilmslow Road. They are gambling with the lives of our children and our neighbors while they sit in their offices and do nothing.

I understand your concerns about more traffic backing up but there is a bollard crossing at the bottom of broadway. Also if the traffic is stationary the children would be safer crossing. As it stands at the moment there is back up traffic anyway and with no crossing its a potential hazzard now.

This sounds like a very sensible idea. There is a crossing on the High Street, it makes sense to have one here too

this crossing is needed before someone is injured or killed.
