We the undersigned residents of Brisbane call upon Brisbane City Council to contribute $100,000 per annum to a Suncorp Stadium community trust.
The State Government has already agreed to a matched contribution of $100,000.
Brisbane City Council collects more than $600,000 from Suncorp Stadium in rates and charges, and more than $20,000 in parking fines for each stadium event.
Residents of Paddington, Milton, Petrie Terrace and Red Hill are often inconvenienced by the running of Suncorp Stadium – which is of benefit to all Queenslanders. A community trust will improve community services in the local area providing a tangible benefit for local residents.

Living right in the shadow of the stadium means dealing with the constant noise and traffic every single time an event happens. I am currently working on a formal proposal to ensure these funds finally go toward the local services our neighborhood deserves.

Seeing this level of support confirms that our neighborhood deserves better than just noise and traffic for the revenue we generate. It is clear that I am not the only one tired of bearing the burden of these events without receiving any local investment in return.

Living in Milton during event season is a nightmare. Parking is impossible and foot traffic is insane. $100k is pocket change for the council. Pay up!
The traffic and noise on game nights is honestly out of control. We put up with so much just so everyone else can have fun. It is time we got something back for our neighborhood.
About time. Red Hill gets trashed every time there is a concert or game. Do the right thing Graham.
Fair is fair. We deal with the madness every weekend so the least they can do is fix up the parks and footpaths around here.
It inconveniences everyone around petrie terrace. We need these funds for local improvements now.
