We have applied for planning permission to allow us to illuminate the lettering on the signs of our Eastney Coffee House.

Our intention is to illuminate the letters from the inside of the sign with Halo lighting so that it is not overpowering.

The lighting will consist of low luminance levels as we have tried to be as sympathetic to the area as we can be, but ensuring that we maintain our identity after dark for potential customers walking / driving by.

We have received a huge amount of support for this application (currently 30 supporting comments) but as there have been 5 objections, we are required to take this matter to a committee meeting for the planning committee to decide.

We would therefore like anyone who is in favour of our development to sign this petition so that we can present it to Portsmouth City Council prior to the Committee Meeting.

Thank you for your support.

The level of public interest in this signage proposal has surpassed my initial expectations. This collective interest provides a strong foundation as we prepare our presentation for the upcoming council committee meeting.

I am in full support of the Coffee Cup planning request for illuminated signage, especially the unobtrusive nature lighting system proposed which appears sympathetic to the sea front environment in highlighting the welcoming presence of a friendly cafe.

led halo illumination that is subtle and on during opening hours would not be detrimental to the area at all. The coffee cup is bringing interest and life to what is a dilapidated sea front area. The coffee cup will drive interest and in the area and enable people to sit and enjoy the views. I fully support this application.

I have no problem with this and everyone who works or visits the coffee cup has helped us with our fundraising for our little boy @ Jack's 1st steps fund. So thank you

I can't see any reason the sign ...signs should not be lit , all other shops have lit signs and it is a security issue as well . ....The signs will not be lit all night so what's the problem !!!. The signs were made after getting permission from the council !!.

I am in favour of the development of the sign. I see no problem involved in this in fact this will enhance the seafront and make it clear for when it is open. I am grateful for this development it has enhanced mine and my families life by encouraging us to visit the beach more often and always trying to accommodate children. Thank you.

Most of us are very excited to have the new coffee shop, as the Coffe Cup van has been a treat to walk to these past few years. It looks fine and a few illuminations will be welcome on a wintry evening. I hope people nearby understand that the Eastney seafront is loved by us all, even those that do not have the privilege of living close by. .

I think it would be a great idea, especially since the lighting is not overpowering
