PETITION TO THE TOWN OF EAST HAMPTON We the undersigned concerned Businesses of the Town of East Hampton encourage the Town Board to revise the lighting code to be fairer to the business community. 1) Allow existing lighting to be grandfathered until such time as major site changes are to occur 2) Allow administrative permits for any light fixture changes for 25% or more of all fixtures on site 3) Allow commercially zoned properties to use the same fixtures permitted for residential properties 4) Permit cutoff and semi- cutoff fixtures in addition to full cutoff fixtures (i.e. adequate lighting, less poles & fixtures) 5) Allow photographs, sketches and mocked up surveys where site plan is required.

Just let us use basic fixtures that actually light up the storefronts. the current rules are pure insanity.

Way too much expensive paperwork just to change a bulb. simplify the process.

My customers have tripped in the parking lot because the current lighting rules are ridiculous. We need better visibility for safety.

The shop is way too dark at night. It looks like we are closed when we are actually open for business. Fix this code already.

Ridiculous to spend thousands to upgrade perfectly good lights just because of town red tape. let us keep what we have.
