City of Rochester City Manager: Terminate Kenn Ortmann, Planning Department Director

Unfortunately, this is not the first time Mr. Ortmann has displayed this type of behavior. For 9 years he was involved in the process to revise Rochester's zoning ordinance where meeting minutes were not taken even though decisions resulted from these meetings. Mr. Ortmann was also responsible for taking federal funds to rehab and sell foreclosed properties. He used $2.4 million to create just 9 livable units - that's $266,000/unit! He even sole sourced the development of the project to a personal friend who received 15% of the $2.4 million!
It's because of this type of unacceptable behavior we believe Mr. Ortmann should be removed as an employee of the City of Rochester!

I have spent my mornings combing through city records and building a timeline of these questionable financial decisions. The lack of transparency in the planning office is costing this community far more than just money.

Seeing this level of support reminds me that I am not the only one exhausted by this blatant misuse of our city resources. It feels like the tide is finally turning against these backroom deals and the dismissal of our basic rights.

about time someone stood up against this. bad for the city.
he talks about individual rights like they are a nuisance. he doesnt belong in public office if he thinks like that.
this guy sounds like he thinks he can do whatever he wants with our money. get him out of rochester now.
total corruption. how does his friend get a contract like that without anyone stopping it? unbelievable.
no minutes for meetings? that is not how local government is suppose to run. he needs to go.
