Camels Hump Middle School has changed the 2017 eighth grade graduation date to a later date making it so many students can no longer attend their own graduation. Help us change the graduation date back to the original date, only at a new time
Reaching this point has been exhausting but I appreciate seeing so many of you acknowledge that these students deserve to be at their own ceremony. The path forward feels long yet I am keeping at this because the situation remains unfair.

Please consider upholding the original date of the the CHMS 8th graduation. This is not only an inconvenience for many families who have made arrangements around this date, but also speaks volumes to the students in regards to the value of their achievement.

This is OUTRAGEOUS on the school's behalf!! From my understanding; they want to change a whole graduation ceremony over a senior banquet??!! That is unbelievable, unacceptable, and down right wrong ! The banquet should be the event that is rescheduled, NOT a whole graduation ceremony where family members have made travel arrangements to attend. Changing the day will also make it where some of the children can't even go to their own graduation! Maybe the school doesn't consider an eighth-grade graduation AS/or THAT important, but everybody else does and it should come above a banquet that is absolutely not as important as a huge milestone in life such as, an eight grad graduation. Get it together CHMS! Do not change the date!!

I have already emailed and complained! We are supposed to be driving to Maine for a weekend soccer tournament that Friday evening. Direct conflict and since it is a tournament that Far Post players are in, I am guessing there are many more affected. Change the date back!!

Our family has out of town commitments on Friday, June 16. I suggest that administration from CHMS and MMU work together to stagger the times of both events on 6/15 or move one of the events to an earlier day in the week.

Graduation at any level is a major milestone and the achievement should be celebrated and honored. Changing the date less than a month before the event sends the message to the students that this achievement is not important, that the work of their teachers has not been relevant, and that the support of their families is not valued.

I understand the reason for changing the date but it affects many people and many kids will not be able to go to their own graduation. Parents are unable to make their own child's graduation. Either the date needs to go back to the original date or it should be Wednesday the 14th because many kids have tournaments for sports and won't be able to make it to school on Friday. It needs to be changed to either earlier in the week or back to its original date.
