Since last Summers volcanic eruption the cellular service on the eastern side of the big island is very very poor a lot of times there is no service at all. Many have called AT&T including myself to try to get them to acknowledge the issue and fix it . Unfortunately they’re refusing to acknowledge there is any issue so we are starting a petition to send to them to show them how many people this is really affecting .
I spent the morning reading through the messages from those of you living on the eastern side of the island and the isolation you are feeling is heartbreaking. We are compiling these stories to send directly to the regional managers because they cannot ignore our reality once they see the scale of this problem.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that so many of my neighbors are struggling just as much as I am to stay connected after the eruption. This momentum shows AT&T that we are not just imagining these dead zones in our own homes.

I am providing health care at home. I can’t communicate with the doctors, my office, or the patients by phone to let them know I am on my way. We need better cell connections for the Puna community’s health.

I also have AT&T, there is no service along the coast, Government Beach Rd, between Kahakai Blvd and Papaya Farms Rd. At home I don't get service until I'm on the 3rd floor. Then along Hwy 130 between Ainaloa Blvd, and Keaau, it is frequent dropped calls, and no Data service. It's pretty terrible.

We saw during 2018 volcanic eruption how important it is to be able to communicate during disasters. Land lines are so easily destroyed during lava flows. We need to have completely reliable cell service to all of Puna. This is a matter of life and death during emergencies. Our area of upper Kamaili road has zero cell signal.

Less reliable weekends, no service for hours then suddenly just fine again. Certain hours daily I have to hunt for a spot for the phone to work. Messages can take days to arrive. Texts are most reliable compared to phone ringing. During the flow, there was basically no reception for months at my home, then it became as I have already described.

I reside in Mountain View had service before eruption and now it is spotty at best coming down the hill. My family members have Verizon and are able to text and call out, yet I with At&t have no service at all. Please fix and expand.

I've been an AT&T customer in lower Puna since before Cingulair. AT&T has already made money in Puna, and still has a large portion of the population under contract. Your employees have been saying "it'll be fixed soon" for over a year while continuing to enroll new customers and keep existing customers locked into their contracts.

I have been living there for 15 years in AT&T does not work in Nanawale. I have to drive to Longs to get reception. At&t cut me off about 8 years ago. They said I didn't use my phone enough. This has been an ongoing problem since at least 2005 or more. I have been with Verizon about 8 years now without having any problems and great reception and I don't have to drive to Longs to get semi good reception anymore. I love Verizon. IT WORKS!!
