We, the undersigned residents of The Town of Vienna, residents of Fairfax County adjacent to Vienna and Tysons Corner, Virginia, and members of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish and School community urge local authorities and telecommunications providers to prioritize improving mobile network coverage in our community - including coverage across the 20-acre campus of Our Lady of Good Council. As a vibrant and affluent part of Fairfax County, Vienna depends on reliable connectivity for safety, work, education, and communication. However, numerous dead zones and inconsistent service throughout Vienna are causing serious and significant safety issues and impacting our daily lives - including local business within the Town. We request immediate action and a comprehensive plan to expand and upgrade infrastructure, ensuring robust mobile coverage, guaranteed access and a safer well-being for all residents and visitors in Vienna, Virginia.

Watching the signature count climb toward one hundred shows how many people are tired of losing service while trying to work or reach loved ones at OLGC. Please send this link to three neighbors who deal with these dead zones every single day so we hit that baseline before the next town meeting.

December 3, 2024

We are approaching five hundred signatures and those numbers are exactly what the town council needs to see to take our dead zones seriously. Please help us push past this threshold today so we can prove that our community refuses to accept these safety risks any longer.

We moved to Vienna in 2012 from Bethesda and immediately noticed the lack of cell coverage throughout Vienna (and especially around OLGC school). Based on the technological capabilities of the Northern Virginia area it is very surprising that our cell coverage continues to be this poor

I have been a long time member of OLGC. My son currently goes to Bishop O’Connell. His bus stop is at OLGC. If I arrive, and the bus is late, I cannot receive communication from my son due to the dead zone in the OLGC area. Likewise if we are at a sporting event at OLGC, my other children can’t reach me, again because of the dead zone.

Much needed for the safety of all who work or go to school on OLGC's campus. I teach at OLGC and would have a great peace of mind knowing that I have the ability to connect with the outside world quickly in case of an emergency.

I personally was attempting to assist an adult stung on campus. I could not get a signal for help. I had to leave the incapacitated person and run to the school to get assistance.

Our home in SE Vienna is a dead zone, which is ridiculous for this major metropolitan area. It does create safety issues. I have had ti call 911 for a neighbor and was unable to use my cell.

I have experienced several dead zones in the Vienna area. One on Park St. At Tapawingo Road. Another on Beulah Road near Church St. My neighbor, who cares for an elderly handicapped spouse, must go outside her house to use the cell phone. It’s a safety issue.

Terrible cell service. I lose it as soon as I enter Vienna from McLean. I got a ticket because I picked up my phone to see what the issue was and there was a cop in my window immediately.

It’s unsafe and pathetic that we don’t have coverage 15 miles from nation capital
