Castle Blaney Homeowners Petition to ask for a revision to the covenants to allow storage sheds on properties located within the Castle Blaney Community. We would like the Home Owners Association to consider changing the covenants to revise the section on Temporary Structure which do not allow outside Storage Structures on our properties. We would recommend limiting the Sheds / Storage Structures in size, color, and type of structure allowed and a submission of an Architectural Change Form would be required prior to construction. The Architectural Change Form should be changed or a separate section should be added indicating size, color, material, desired location and type of structure. The structure should be placed within set guidelines established by the Harford County Zoning ordinances and permits shall be acquired if needed. Also, Storage Structures will not be placed in common areas as defined by the HOA. Sheds sizes should be no taller than 10’ (10 feet) and with a square footage no greater than 160 square feet. . Sheds should only be constructed with a gable style roof ( No barn or shed style roofs). All materials should be of either wood with shingles or of a vinyl/resin siding type material (no metal sheds or pre-fabricated plastic sheds). The color scheme should match the existing color scheme of the home on the property. Sheds should also be maintained so as they do not become eyesores and they must be only located within the confines of the properties back yard and should not impede the neighboring yards or properties. While these are just recommendations the HOA would have final approval via the Architectural Change process. By allowing these changes it would allow residents additional storage abilities and enable residents to park inside of their garages as they are intended. This should also reduce the number of vehicles parked on streets, and blocking sidewalks used by pedestrians. We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge the Castle Blaney Home Owners Association to act now to revise the current covenants to allow Outside Storage Sheds on properties located within the Castle Blaney Sub Division.
