Derbyshire County Council have granted planning approval for a caravan touring park on the Green Belt in Riddings, Derbyshire, against the wishes of the local community and against Government policy. They have reneged on a promise made to the inhabitants of Riddings by failing to enforce their own condition set when granting a previous mineral extraction application to restore part of this land to it's former state. The granting of this application will have an adverse affect on local residents in that it will make worse the traffic problems already experienced on local roads within the village.
