In the interest of all the Final Year, Law Students of School of Law, UPES, Dehradun, we request the authorities to cancel the seminar paper which is creating a hurdle for the students who are aspiring to make their careers and have already either started preparing for their competitive exams or have joined various organisations to shape their respective careers.
The seminar paper has been provisionally added after the semester had already begun and a very less time would be provided for its completion.
Less than a month is remaining for our end semester exams and it is high time for the final year students to think beyond the college and might lose the opportunities in hand for completing another project work of this kind.
We respect the authoritative guidelines but we cannot work beyond the bounds.
In hope of getting a relief from the college authorities, we sign this petition.

We have just submitted our dissertation that took us months to complete. We have always respected the decision of the college authorities and have followed the rules and regulations as our duty being the student of this institution. But this is the time when most of us our looking towards preparing for competitive exams or have started working for firms/companies. It is very hard for us to complete the seminar papers in this Remaining duration. It is not a disobedience rather a request to reduce the burden that could hamper our future plans.
The Dissertation Viva and presentations for this Seminar and end semesters, everything is clashing with each other. We have already submitted our dissertations without any extensions provided by the college authorities but we hounered the decision of the college authorities and submitted the dissertation on time but the addition of these Seminars that too in the middle of the semester all of a sudden is not acceptable to any of the students and even unfair. Kindly think about our future and the pressure we are going through right now. It is a humble request to kindly cancel these seminars.
Dissertation has already wasted my one month in this last semester and i couldn't spare time for other competitive exams for which i have filled the form. Please atleast support us in shaping our future not just by forcing the placement rather helping in grabbing the opportunity by exempting us from thia seminar paper for which no seminar is going to be conducted.
this isn’t feasible for the students of fifth year, no matter how feasible it is for the authorities. The vivas have also been scheduled in the same date as that of dissertation. This is going to be very difficult for us to manage.
This seminar paper is an unnecessary and unexpected burden on the final year students. All of them have already submitted dissertation reports which are also part of their curriculum. Many students have opted for early release and are working in their offices. This type of police acts as a barrier to their work.

We have some commitments towards our office too. Either we still keep meeting deadlines at UPES or we invest our time n' energy in "representing UPES" in the office now coz' for good or for bad we carry the tag! OR as you'd suggest, we do both simultaneously and compromise with the quality at both ends and let the same hamper our career and reputation in office. And for heaven's sake, stop comforting yourself with the lie that both can be done together with no dilution in quality of work.
