The Council voted against the parishwide garbage bid and our choice to manage our own waste remains protected. I truly never expected this outcome when I started the petition but you all proved that our collective voice carries real weight. I am so grateful to everyone who spoke up to …

The undersigned submit this request to the Ascension Parish Council requesting that they take action to DENY a Parish-wide garbage bid in unincorporated areas of the Parish. We are happy with our choices for garbage collection and/or our choice to NOT have garbage collection. We do not want any new TAXES passed to us in the form of mandatory garbage collection and ask that the Council vote down the proposed letting of bid for parishwide garbage collection in unincorporated areas of Ascension Parish.

Seeing the count climb toward one thousand signatures is honestly overwhelming and I am just the person who started the page while you are the ones truly driving this effort. If you can help get us over this hump today by sending the link to a neighbor or two we might actually get the council to sit up and listen.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have stepped up to oppose this. We are right on the verge of hitting one hundred names and I know your collective efforts are the reason this is gaining momentum.

This is ridiculous. Leave us alone and let us handle our own services. We definitely dont need another bill just to throw trash away.
Seriously? Another unnecessary tax. Some of us manage our own trash just fine and dont want to pay extra for someone else to do it.
Total overreach. Stop trying to force us into a contract we didnt ask for.
STOP THE NEW TAXES! Ascension parish council needs to listen to the people not just big companies looking for a monopoly.
I like my current trash service just fine. Why fix what isnt broken? Keep the parish out of my property business.

We dont need the government telling us who picks up our trash. My current guy is cheaper and does a better job.
