Opposition to Hanover Borough's Proposed Rental Registration and Inspection Ordinance
We, the undersigned residents of the Hanover Borough, request that the Division of Code Enforcement enforce all existing ordinances including those pertaining to the registration and/or inspection of residential rental properties. We oppose the passage of proposed ordinance 2024-XX, also known previously as Proposed Ordinance 2335, which you already refused to implement in 2022. Proposed Ordinance 2024-XX will waste large amounts of taxpayer funds. We understand that the Division of Code Enforcement has already wasted $9,000 on a survey that you voted not to fund. Proposed Ordinance 2024-XX will cause undue hardship to tenants, property owners, and taxpayers alike to pay for additional inspection fees, additional local taxes, and increased salaries for administrators to implement and enforce. PLEASE STOP THIS WASTEFUL SPENDING NOW!

Stop wasting our money on more red tape. We have enough problems with the costs already without adding new ones.
The inspections will cost landlord fees which will pass to the tenants. The rent is already way too high.
