Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Minister of Public Safety Ralph Goodale

Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Ahmed Hussen

We are taking Len Van Heest, a bi-polar son, away from his 81 year old mother who thought she gave him Canadian citizenship nearly 60 years ago. He has no family or contacts in the Netherlands and can't even speak the language.

Deporting someone who has has a mental illness after nearly 6 decades in Canada. THIS is who we have become?

Bring Len home.

How can Canada deport a 59 year old man with bi-polar disease to a country he left as an infant? This would be a traumatic experience to any of us, let alone a person with mental health issues. Bring Len home before this becomes more of a tragedy than it already is.

Deporting a mentally ill resident who has been in Canada since infancy is irresponsible and cruel. How do people slip through the legal system and fail to get citizenship? I have no idea. But clearly a person who came to Canada shouldn't be sent off to be the responsibility of some other nation for lack of some paperwork.

So cruel of the Canadians

To send Len to a country he does not know because he is a Canadian all his life is truly cruel especially to a mentally ill man with his aged mother. The fact that he is not a Canadian through an oversight of his mother should be overlooked and although he has a criminal record due to his illness, he should be allowed back to Canada. Instead they allow Kadar who is a terrorist to stay and pay him ten million with an apology is ridiculous

Shame on you, Canada. Bring this man home.

I do believe Canada can do better than that. Mr. Van Heest belongs here. He needs our compassion, not deportation.

This is everything that is against what Canada stands for.
