Minister Jason Kenny
I respectfully request a permanent stop to deportation of Mr. Farshid Mc Vandifar to Iran and to allow him to remain in Canada on Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds.
Today we hear every hour on the media from government officials around the world of how terrible the human rights conditions in Iran has become.
Minister John Baird said his department is keeping a close eye on the Iranian embassy amid reports Iran is using its mission to recruit Iranian-Canadians to serve Tehran. Nazanin Afshin Jam, spouse of Minister. Peter Mac Kay of Iranian descent has asked Canada not to Deport political activists to Iran for they do face cruel and unusual punishment in the hands of regime in Tehran.
Farshid has lived, worked, paid taxes in Canada since 1996, after fleeing to Canada from Iran to save his life. His only crime in Canada was to use a false passport to travel to Canada which was orchestrated by smugglers, like thousands of refugees like him in that era.
He is already an exemplary resident for 16 years, he would make even a better Citizen to Canada, the country he so dearly loves.
Please consider ALL of his story and allow him to become a permanent resident after 16 years of honorably living in Canada.
I have been spending so much time reading through everything you all have written here and frankly it is overwhelming to see such kindness for someone I care about so deeply. Things are quiet on the official front right now but I am spending every spare minute drafting new letters and trying to get past the gatekeepers to find someone who will actually listen to why this matters.

Ridiculous to send him back to that situation after he has been here working and paying taxes for so long. Justice for Farshid!

He made a mistake with a passport almost 20 years ago. Who cares? He has been a contributing member of society ever since. Leave the man alone.
