Bring back Halloween room parties to the students of Greenwood Elementary!!!
Do you know that all of our surrounding Elementary schools still have Hallooween parties ? We are the only school in the south Lee's Summit area whose children do not get to enjoy the traditional Halloween room parties any longer !
Move the "Fun Run" to an early release day or to a Friday afternoon.
Let's bring back Halloween parties to all the students at GWE !

The feedback from other parents confirms that our students feel left out compared to surrounding schools. Contact the principal today to demand that the administration reconsider the school calendar. Keep the pressure up until they offer a firm response.

The momentum behind this push to bring back our Halloween parties is undeniable and showing the administration that families expect change. Now is the time to translate this energy into action by emailing the school board members tonight. Tell them exactly why these traditions matter for our students.

If i have to change my work schedule for a late start Wednesday it should not be hard for them to have more parties for the kids. PST they are kids let them have fun while they are still kids.
I loved those parties as a kid. They were the highlight of my year. They are KIDS let them have fun befor middle school sucks it out of their time.
While initially, I didn't care for the idea of a Fun Run, hearing how much fun my son had last year made me change my mind. I agree with other comments on this petition - I LOVE the idea of a Fun Run - just definitely NOT as a replacement for our Halloween party. Thanks for offering this as a potential way to bring our FUN parties back!!!!
There doesn't seem to be much for room mom's to do anymore. Without Halloween parties in the classroom, we are left with just Valentine's. I feel so uninvolved now.
I agree. Not a fan of this in place of class party. Fun Run is great if we can do another time. I have always been happy with the way GWE accommodates families. I do know of other schools who do the Fun Run as their 1 big fundraiser for the year and still have traditional class parties.
I just learned of this hilarious petition. Do you hear yourselves? There are real world issues going on. Get a grip on life.

Lets get rid of the $60.00 fee for wearing their Halloween costumes while were at it.
