it was perceived that unreasonable charges of high value had been recorded for
the Development charges and Park Levy along with some others. After meeting
with other owners, we found out that all of us shared similar problems. These
charges were unwarranted and we were caught off guard. The building has not
even begun to fix problems that we reported once we had moved in but they
expect us to pay such outrageous fees. Amenities that were promised to us when
we first agreed to purchase the condo have not been fulfilled, even though we
pay for maintenance and other charges. When we first saw these charges we were
devastated, they had charged nearly $20,000 for just Development charges and
Park Levy, many of us do not have that kind of money to spare. When we first bought
the building the things the vendor told us were completely different from how
they treat us now. The building was supposed to have finished nearly two years
ago but they kept postponing, and now have charged unreasonable amounts to make
matters worse. All their charges are closer to 10% of our
purchase price of the condo. These charges are beyond what a normal person
could pay, this is truly preposterous.

I spent the entire weekend reading through your messages and it is clear that V.H.L. Developments has left many of us in the exact same financial trap. We are currently gathering all the documentation regarding these hidden park levies because silence will not fix the broken promises they made to our community.

Seeing so many neighbors come forward with their own stories of these hidden charges has been overwhelming. I never imagined we would find this much strength in numbers when I first wrote this out of pure frustration.

Hello My name is Ari . I own unit 908 and Im closing on April 6th but I have not been told my closing costs yet. I assume they will be crazy like everyone else so I would like to be a part of the law suit. Aslo because they want me to move into my unit and are forcing me to pay rent when the measurement of the unit are off( living room is over a foot smaller than it should be according to original drawings so I cannot put in furniture) I have contacted the developer and Tarion and its been about 3 months and noone has contacted me yet. My unit needs to be totally demolished and redone so how can I move in and why am I paying rent for nothing. Can someone please explain it to me?
My charges was 23;000$ extension fee was included .and the rebate of 25,000 dollars was taken by the builder. I had to come up with 66,864 in two days or he will terminate the contract and throw my out. I put my voice with all he get affected from those good people from my bulding
It is ridiculous for .V.H.L. to impose all the hidden fees on the condo owners..

I have experience same problems and I had to borrow for my closing cost at high interest rate and also there are too many things that have not been completed
As all the owner below, i felt the betrayal threw my core.....and the pain continues.

I recently finished my closing of my unit in this 1328 building on 3rd of March. I always prefer to be a positive and optimistic person. But I couldn't stop keeping silent seeing my situation in my unit. I paid $22420/- on top of my 20% mortgage down payment for my 2 bed and 2 washroom unit. It is more than 100% charge than my expectation. My balcony is structurally defective (deep crack) short span wise, it is not finished with fine cement punning, the floor mats are displaced here and there and my kitchen sink is leaking between the steel and granite connection at top. I am just living for 3 months with my spouse. Is it normal closing COST and ready to live UNIT?
