To the Management of 18 Park Apartments (18 Park Ave, Jersey City, NJ) from the Residents
• While we are glad that children at the Boyz and Girls Club have somewhere to play, it is disturbing to hear and feel the sound and vibrations coming from the basketball court: many of us have children that need to sleep during the day, some of us work from home, while some are just very sensitive to these vibrations
• We are not prepared to pay a luxury-level apartment lease price for this kind of experience. We Have NOT been notified by the Lease office about this situation when we signed the lease, neither we've got a discounted price to compensate for the discomfort. And it is our Consumer Right to get what we expected when we pay for the lease
• We understand that sound insulation is a serious construction issue that was overlooked during 18 Park building design (another example of this issue is sounds coming from the gym area in the eastern wing of the building). But we want this issue to be fixed, or be compensated for the lower quality and related discomfort. We reserve the right to defend our Consumer Rights in the court, if our petition is not heard
• We also want to have a freedom to express our opinions on any subject related to the living conditions and events at 18 Park at the Online Residents Board. We reserve the right to launch an alternative public web-site for residents, if our petition is not heard

Leasing office has given us many false information and this is one of them
Can't properly relax at home when deep banging noise occurs thorough out the day and into late evening.
I agree with this statement

18 Park overall is a very nice experience, but the vibrations due to the basketball court heavily detracts from it. Everyday when I come home from work, I can feel the persistent banging. Persistent enough that I am planning to switch to a different apartment building.
