The council finally approved the bike lanes for Citrus today. It has been a long and heavy road since we lost Clayton but this change will keep other families from knowing our pain. Thank you for staying with me through the weariness.
We lost a young man on 12/30/2014 due to no space for pedestrians on bicycles to ride safely. The young mans name was Clayton Storey. He was 15 years old and starting his first year at Crystal River High School. We need to bring awareness to the people so that this type of incident does not happen again and so another family does not have to worry about them loosing their child, family member, or friend. Please sign this petition so we can get one step closer to having a safer county for everyone to ride there bikes in.
The weight of this loss gets heavier with every passing day but I keep showing up for Clayton. We are nearing a hundred signatures and I need you to help push us past this mark to show that our community refuses to accept these roads as they are.

I have a business less than 1 mi from the beginning of this trail, on hwy 19. I see at leat a dozrn bikes and walkers on Hwy 19 every day. And these are just the ones I see. Dangerous for pedestrians AND drivers.

This would make much more sense than the state building sidewalks along the forest where no one lives! Let's do this for all the folks in that area in honor of that fine young man.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and loved ones of Clayton Storey. Being a Mother of teenage boys, this hit too close to home and my heart was grieved to hear about this tragic accidnet. I'm glad people are pulling together to help create a bike/pedestrian path along dangerous Hwy 19.
