Recently on US Highway 301, a seventeen year old boy was struck by a vehicle and killed. His name is Zachery Holt and he had his whole life awaiting him. He was intelligent and compassionate. His family will never see him grow up, never meet his children, nor even see him graduate from high school.
This occurred at night and the road is dimly lit. In response to this recent tragedy, more lights need to be placed on US Highway 301. There have been many other deaths and accidents on this highway, many of which occur at night. This has led me to believe more light posts would be beneficial to the citizens of Marion County as a whole. No more people with their whole lives ahead of them need to be so tragically killed like my best friend was simply due to the road being dimly lit.

301 has been a death trap for years. How many more kids have to get hurt before the county does something? Put the lights up already.

My heart breaks for Zachery's family. Driving on 301 at night is terrifying because you cant see anything until it is too late. Fix these lights before someone else dies.
