Dear Neighbors,
As many of you know, a man recently lost his life at the exit of our Twelve Oaks neighborhood. As membership director and representative of the Twelve Oaks HOA, we believe the time has come for us to make our voices heard at the state level to avoid any further tragedies. With the full support of Shreveport Development Corp and Tony Janca, our petition requesting a traffic light to be installed at the exit/entrance of Twelve Oaks, will be hand carried to the Govenor's office. My heart grieves for the family of the young man who lost his life. My heart also grieves for the young teenager and the young woman who were also involved. All of these lives have been forever changed. But I also believe that "light" can come forth from every dark moment in our lives. And my prayer is that our petition ring true at the state level to allow this traffic light to shine brightly and become a memorial to this young man's life! Please take a moment to sign the petition below:
We, the concerned residents and neighbors of Shreveport's Twelve Oaks neighborhood, implore the state to reconsider the previous objection to a traffic light at the Twelve Oaks entrance/exit. On Friday, July 18, 2014, Edwin J. Bergeron was killed after the Honda CBR he was riding was reportedly hit by a Scion TC, driven by a 16-year-old female, which was exiting the Twelve Oaks subdivision. We ask for reconsideration and immediate implementation of the attached plans for a traffic light to avoid any future potential tragedies.

Without the light, turning left is very dangerous during high traffic times. Could be useful for safety and to keep traffic from the neighborhood flowing well
PLEASE put a red light in front of 12 oaks!!!!! It is so packed in the mornings and 5:00 and very dangerous!!! I would def feel safer with one.
Ridiculous how long this has taken. Someone died! Do your jobs and put up the light before more people get hurt.
I drive by this way every single day and it is terrifying. Too many close calls. Just put the light in already.
Government officials and authorities: please don't respond to our request for this traffic light as some have in the past with a warning that the intersection will become more dangerous with a traffic light than without. The rationale being that rushing autos crossing the intersection without the right-of- way (running a red light) poses a higher risk of collisons only implies we aren't capable of negotiating that traffic hazzard. The fact is, the vast majority of us successfully acomplish such negotiation at the most dangerous intersections through out our city on a daily basis.
Witnessed wreck on 2/20/23
Need light at 12 oaks desperately
