Bethesda is home to more than 68,000 residents and an estimated 16,400 dogs, yet the nearest dog park is over 3.5 miles away. As our community grows denser with new residential development, the need for a safe, local space for dogs and neighbors has never been greater.
We, the undersigned, call on Montgomery Parks and the Montgomery County Planning Board to establish a dedicated dog park in Bethesda without delay. A dog park is not a luxury—it is a necessary amenity for a thriving urban community.

Consider dedicating a section of the abundantly large park adjacent on Arlington between the library and Bethesda elem so that the least used section farthest from the school is for dogs with a fence as divider and access for dog owners created off edgemoor rd.
