Harris County, TX:Fireworks and celebrations go together, especially during the holiday season. But fireworks can be dangerous when used improperly, causing serious burn and eye injuries, traumatizing pets, and costing thousands of dollars in property damage. That ’s why the Harris County Fire Marshal strongly recommends that you:LEAVE FIREWORKS TO THE PROFESSIONALS!

My own dog spent the entire night under my bed shaking because of the noise and I know so many of you are dealing with the same fear in your homes. I have been spending my evenings documenting the damage in our neighborhood to show the officials exactly what is at stake here. We cannot keep choosing loud displays over the safety of our families and our pets.

Seeing this momentum grow reminds me of the nights I spent comforting my dog while the neighborhood shook with explosions. It means so much to know that so many of you want our community to be safer for our pets and our homes.

Fireworks are awesome twice a year on the day of July 4th and NYE. However in my neighborhood of Newport in Crosby, TX Harris county people start a week before and this year it was August and some neighbors were still shooting left over fireworks . Should be banned

The sale of fireworks should be banned in Harris County. The noise is a nuisance as well as a hazard. They frighten pets and disrupt the lives of our veterans with ptsd.

With the number of professional fireworks displays in Houston individuals doing their own is unnecessary. My family have been in Texas since 1832. We have been in Harris County since 1933. Everyone doing fireworks time has passed

As a retired Paramedic, Fire Fighter and Deputy, I absolutely have seen the tragic consequences associated with untrained individuals handling explosives. Never ends well

In my neighborhood people set off fireworks in their backyard because the front yard is along TC Jester / fm1960 West, by being allowed to do so poses a fire hazard that might not be discovered until it would be too late to control.
