Fireworks contain a variety of chemicals toxic to humans, animals and Earth. From the gunpowder that fuels their flight to the metallic compounds that color their explosions, fireworks contain carcinogenic substances that seep into soil and water, not to mention the lung-clogging smoke they release and plastic debris they scatter. Fireworks contribute to noise pollution, a source of stress and anxiety for humans and animals. Fireworks cause animals to suffer in fright; each year thousands of pets become ill or go missing as a result of fireworks. We CAN protect our skies and our pets, please sign the petition to ban fireworks!
The petition will be sent to different legislative bodies once we have enough signatures to support this movement.

My dogs are so scared this evening because of fireworks. I'm scared that one of them may have a heart attack....this has to STOP!!!!!00
Stop this dated tradition, which terrorises people, animals from September to January and other times. Even new year is spoilt. Fireworks should be banned at least out of respect for terrorist victims in Manchester, UK. There families won't want reminding by loud bangs.
Ban fireworks. They are being used by youths illegally. Also they should be banned because of the terror attacks this year out of respect for the bomb victims families. Autistic people hate loud noises and it distressed them. Fireworks get thrown at passing cars. Animals and people are getting stressed by them September until January and close down firework shops. Stop online sale and blackmarket. Our government in UK is risking lives for the sake of a ridiculous old tradition, which should no longer be celebrated.

Only in America would dangerous explosives not only be legal in the hands of anyone with two legs, but also encouraged and glorified. Big Brother is always breathing down our necks for the most benign of activities, yet fireworks are practically unregulated. How many people have to lose a hand or an eye, and how many fires must there be before lawmakers finally ban fireworks? (Professional displays being the exception.)

I'm sitting hear with a mask over my nose and mouth as the beautiful Columbia River Gorge is going up in a raging wildfire because some peabrained #%$#*!!#*# IDIOT decided it would be fun to light fireworks on a dry, dense, hot forest trail while his punk*ss friends video taped it on their phones. (9/6/17) This is breaking my heart because so many people are having to evacuate in the Portland area and so many wild animals are losing their lives to a 100% preventable fire. We must ban the sale of explosives to small minded idiots and make the firework manufacturers pay for the damages. And they are extensive.
