Let's put a ban on people using fireworks in the city of thunder bay. There is no reason for the excessive noise and its scaring all our pets. They are very dangerous also. People are getting hurt and our family pets are running scared to get away from it. There is always other methods to celebrate like chinese lanterns for e.g. Let the city have their annual fireworks in a designated spot where we know the time and its safer for everyone
Seeing this grow makes me feel less alone in the quiet nights spent trying to calm my terrified dog. It is clear that so many others in our city are just as exhausted by the constant noise and the danger these explosives pose to our homes.

fireworks have caused extreme anxiety for my poor dog for 13 years. It would take days to calm him because every noise he heard would trigger his anxiety. It was absolutely horrible. There is no need for it.

Very important issue, pick a date or dates for fireworks so pet owners can be prepared.

personal fireworks should be banned within the city limits because they are dangerous and unsettling for people and pets. My dogs are very sensitive to the noises and my roof has been a landing point for debris of fireworks set off my neighbours. It terrifies me that my house or property will catch fire due irresponsibility and / or the miscalculation of the direction the firework is intended to go. I am against them only for the use by the general public. Our children and pets (and ourselves) don't need the added stress of people using them at all hours of a weekend for only one day of celebration which should be supervised and controlled by the City Firefighters at the Marina, only.

Parents with small kids, people with pets and anyone who likes to get to be before midnight knows that the noise is a pain in the butt. No to mention the safety issues involved.

There is no need for the disrespect with fireworks prior to, during and after any kind of occasion/long weekend. THe disrespect is towards employed people, elderly and especially PETS!
