Ask North Point, NC to stop discrimination against a veteran with a service dog!
The City of North Point, North Carolina is discriminating against Ronnie Massey, a Gulf War veteran who lives in Asheboro, has worked in the City of High Point public services department for 10 years. He has spent the past several months in a tug of war with High Point over his dog, Lusa, who is trained to help him with his PTSD and diabetes.
Massey said the city gave him two options: work in the sewage plant, where the dog must be tied off; or work in an office, where the dog is not allowed.
Please sign this petition and let the City of North Point that discrimination against Mr. Massey is wrong. It is in obvious violation of the law and it needs to be addressed immediately!

The feedback from city leadership remains frustratingly empty despite our efforts to get a real response. Ronnie is still stuck in this impossible situation and the silence from those in charge is telling. I am continuing to push for a direct meeting because this neglect cannot be allowed to last.

Seeing the momentum grow is draining but necessary work while the city continues to ignore the reality of this situation. I am exhausted by the fight but your interest reminds me that we cannot let this drop.

I've seen the changes in Ronnie from the day he interviewed with us for the service dog program to the day he graduated. Lusa gave the Massey family their husband, dad and granddad back. What The City of High Point is doing is reprehensible and unconscionable. They should be ashamed of themselves.
As a veteran with PTSD AND a service dog, Im highly disappointed that a government entity would discriminate against a veteran who has put his life on the line in combat. For the very people he was willing to die for, to turn their backs on him is a disgrace.

I have known Ronnie Massey for years. I watched his boys grow up, graduate high school and get jobs. I think it’s wrong that Ronnie cannot bring his service dog that he so badly needs to work with him. Please don’t make his last two years at work torture!
