Please sign this petition that will be forwarded to the Governor of OKlahoma, The Attorney General & The President of The United States , asking our U.S. President, Barack Obama to please consider signing an immediate, executive order that will help to put an end to the discrimination and abuse of persons with disabilities!

In our ever-growing population of disabled Americans, these are just a very few of the reasons why this petition was created.  The hospitals that denied care to Stephen Puckett also need to be held accountable for their denying this man with the needed, emergency medical care.  Mr. Puckett had been faced with serious, felony charges.  However, the prosecutor informed the public, on April 12, 2010 that Mr Puckett would not be charged.  The question still remains as to why this man was denied healthcare by several hospitals?

"Stephen Puckett, 28, suffers from autism as well as chronic seizures. After suffering seizures at home, emergency crews transported Puckett to a local hospital. However, because of his autistic condition the hospital refused admission." One of the hospitals that refused to treat Mr. Puckett is OU Medical Center.

From Stephen Puckett's Mom, Mary Ann: "The saddest day of my life was watching Stephen stagger out of that hospital in handcuffs. He was drooling because of the seizures and was saying to the officer, "But I'm a good boy officer." There was no reason for him to have to be put through going to jail to get medical help.... He did not ask to be born with all of his health issues. When I finally was allowed to see him after a week, he was missing a front tooth".

Please show your support, asking our leaders to combine their efforts into helping to enact an Executive Order to put an end to the discrimination and abuse of persons with disabilities!

Thank You and God Bless America!

Disgusting behavior from those hospitals. They better be held accountable for this. Justice for Stephen.

This is just sick. Everyone deserves medical treatment regardless of their health history. My heart breaks for this family.

Totally unfair. Disabled people have rights just like everyone else. Why are we still having to fight for basic medical care in 2014???

Fix this now. No hospital should turn away someone in need. Stop the discrimination.
