I believe that all Greenbriar students should take part in the annual Winter Sing and that performing the song "Snow Pants" is a valued tradition by the Greenbriar Community.

I respectfully ask District 28 to recognize that the former Winter Sing format strengthened the Greenbriar Community by including all students and families in the school-wide celebration of holidays and school traditions, whereas the new Winter Sing policy excludes students, families, and traditions.

Please bring this back. I have a daughter in 3rd grade so she will do it but I have a daughter entering kindergarten next year and I would hate for her to miss out on winter sing. It’s so cute and such a great memory.

The Greenbriar community has always been proud of the excellent reputation our school has earned. In addition to academic achievements, school spirit is crucial to that banner of excellence. Our community thrives on a steadfast commitment to upholding every pillar of Greenbriar's legacy--be it large or small. This song is part of our history and needs to remain so to continue the storytelling of our students and their families.

I am a grandparent of one present and two past Greenbriar students as well as the parent of 3 past students. I watched all of my children and two of my grandchildren participate in the winter sing each year and have waited all year to see the youngest sing snowpants again. What a disappointment to hear that this great tradition is going to be changed. I am sure that there are many other grandp arents that feel the same.

I went to greenbriar and sang snow pants in kindergarten and 5th grade. So did my older brother and it was so cool to share that with him. Im now in college and still remember every single word. It’s a wholesome, meaningful, lighthearted, and fun experience. This is a tradition worth keeping alive.

My daughter never knew that she won't be able to participant in the Winter Sing anymore, this is something she had been looking forward every year during the holiday time...Isn't tradition a big part of growing up?

My daughter is in 5th grade. When she was in K it was announced that this next song will be performed again at their fifth grade winter sing. Personally, I felt emotional picturing my little kindergardener standing in front of me singing the same song again 5 years later as a culmination of her elementary years at such a special school tradition (Winter Sing). Now not only do I not get that moment, the fifth graders are left out of the tradition of Winter Sing. No need to re-invent the wheel.

Support keeping it. Be inclusive. Sing a Christmas song & Hanukah song, and let traditions stay strong.
