Seeing five hundred names on this list feels heavy because I know each one represents a neighbor who is just as worried about our hospital as I am. This growing momentum proves that our community refuses to lose the medical care we rely on every single day.

Watching these numbers climb reminds me how much this hospital means to my own family and neighbors. We are almost at five hundred signatures and hitting that mark will prove to the board that we are not going anywhere.

The Mayo brothers hunted in the area and they liked Albert Lea. Mayo brothers have historical meaning in Albert Lea. Why are they really going? When I am sick or in need of medical services it is not about "business" it is about my health and the health of the community.
We NEED this hospital to serve ALL of Freeborn county. The young, the old, the handicap, the mother to be, the emergencies. It is far enough who live on the outskirts of Albert Lea to get the help they need. Going to Austin IS FURTHER than ANYONE wants .
Removing these services is like drawing all the blood from the veins of the community. Albert Lea depends on these services and removing them is not selfish but could be the difference between life and death is some situations.
I personally would not want to be transported to Austin while not feeling good/in labor/just had baby/had emergency surgery. Because that is what a hospital is for taking you in in emergencies or a time of need and taking care of you. Not just here's a bandaid go to Austin.
Losing inpatient services in Albert Lea is risky! I do not want to have to drive 20+ minutes to deliver a baby! This is a horrible idea for the community. Bring in a hospital that actually gives a crap about people.
The closing of this facility would be a devastating blow to the Albert Lea and the surrounding communities. These communities have worked so hard to build infrastructure but losing this major medical facility puts many people in health risks. Mayo, please show your compassion to these communities.
The facility is sorely needed in Albert Lea.

Albert Lea and the surrounding community has worked hard to promote and develop itself. Mayo's decision to close the hospital is a huge blow to our momentum. What's next? We want a health care provider that cares about the needs of rural Americans.
