The Number 35 bus is a bus that runs twice a week through the village of Porchfield, collecting many regulars who use this bus, including myself. This bus route is now being cut.. completely. With many people who do not have their own means of transport any more, the number 35 is the only method many people of Porchfield have in order to do their shopping for food and other essentials that people need on a day to day basis, with many of them not having access to internet and technology facilities so that they would be able to order their food!

Porchfield has no other access to a bus route, unless you can walk 2 miles to Forest Road to catch the Number 7. We're being isolated. With around 15 regular users and maybe another 15 during the summer months when Thorness Bay has a high intake of tourists the number 35 is the only thing that keeps our village going.

I am a 16 year old student and when I learnt the bus route was being cut I was disgraced! This bus route is my only means of transport in order to reach Newport as my parents are busy at work on a weekly basis and I know I am definitely not alone in this predicament. We have a bus service twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, it takes us to Newport mid morning and brings us back early afternoon but other places, such as Cowes, have access to a bus every 7 minutes.

Please help save our bus route and all the other routes that are being cut as of September! We rely on this bus service for our well-being.

I have spent the last few afternoons talking to my neighbors at the bus stop about how they will manage once the route disappears. It is heartbreaking to see how much anxiety this news has caused for people who truly depend on that ride to Newport. I am currently putting together a formal request to the transport board to demand they reconsider these cuts.

Watching this list grow reminds me how many neighbors are staring down the same isolation that I am. Please send this link to your neighbors so we can hit that triple digit mark before the authorities decide our village no longer exists.

This is disgusting that they are even going to contemplate stopping this service, even though it runs twice a week, elderly people rely on this as their only means of buying in essentials as we live so far from a shop. Shame on you Southern vectis!

My mother lives on medina park down Folly Lane and her bus is being stopped in September. This is my mothers lifeline along with many other elderly people who live down there. The bus only runs twice a week now and when it stops it will devastate many many people.

This bus service provides the only link at all to Newtown, Porchfield and Marks Corner, twice a week and only direct link from Newbridge to Brighstone, Chale and Chillerton 3 times a week. It deserves more coverage than less.

Vectis buses should be made to provide a full package; there will always be un-profitable routes, surely that’s part of the service they are contracted for? Their fares are probably the most expensive in England anyway. Is there not a contract that prohibits them from cherry picking.

We need this service for our village, it is a vital link for myself and many villagers who if it's taken away would be left stranded and I'm sure for some it is the only time they get chance to meet up with folk and catch up on local news etc

My nan, lives in newbridge, and always has. She has no one living with her anymore and has always relied on southern vectus buses to be able to get to the doctors and shop. Please don't take her only way of life away.

Having said that;I could imagine it being a tad difficult for very young,or old people to reach the number 7 bus stop,to Newport as the traffic can be dangerous in this area;I support the idea of giving Porchfield and Thorness a daily bus, twice daily even;and cut back on two or three of the scheduled Cowes buses
