This petition seeks for empty land that connects Las Calinas and Glorieta and Onda field to officially be recognized as a park by the county. The reason for this is to provide children who reside in Palencia with another communal area to play safely. Currently, the parks in Palencia North are all located within a .6 mile radius.
We, the undersigned, support this initiative and urge the CDD to act now to work with the county and designate this space as an official park.

The CDD can no longer ignore this groundswell of support for the children in our neighborhood. We have grabbed their attention and we are keeping the pressure on until they stop wasting this land and finally designate a park.

My kids end up playing in the street near Onda because there is nowhere else to go. This has been talked about for years and its time to finally do it.
totally agree. we need safe spaces for the neighborhood kids to hang out that arent just the street.
There was a park being planned at the end of Onda lane but never materialized. Our children from that end of Las calinas still congregate in the streets which is not very safe because I’ve also seen some very unruly drivers lately. Building parks around the community will definitely help them channel their energy in a good direction.
