My kids end up playing in the street near Onda because there is nowhere else to go. This has been talked about for years and its time to finally do it.

There was a park being planned at the end of Onda lane but never materialized. Our children from that end of Las calinas still congregate in the streets which is not very safe because I’ve also seen some very unruly drivers lately. Building parks around the community will definitely help them channel their energy in a good direction.

Looks like someone took down my comment. Very disappointing…

Thank you Paul. We will include an additional step to ensure all signatures are owners and have a voting right that will be presented. Additionally, our hope is to present to CDD Ernesto in time for the March meeting to urge to board into a discussion. Your insight is appreciated.

EDITED: While I agree with the ideas you present, this is NOT the proper way to do it. For starters, your petition is in no way verifiable as to whether or not the folks signing your petition either; a. Live in the community, or b. Contains signatures of folks who have a verifiable voting interest in the Association For example: a. There is at least one renter in your list of signatures, whose signature is not valid. b. One signatory does not live in the Palencia North Community, and their signature is invalid. c. There is one example of TWO signatories residing in the same house. Per the Governing Docs, each house is entitled to ONE VOTE. In short, it appears that all you are looking for is numbers which, in and of themselves, is not valid. The issue you present is a CDD issue, and there is a process for bringing issues before the CDD Board of Supervisors. For what it's worth, Social Media Petitions are not part of that process. If you haven't already, I would strongly advise contacting the CDD District Manager, Mr. Ernesto Torres ([email protected]) to discuss this issue and determine the best path forward. If you continue this petition, I would advise you to be prepared to validate all signatories as being OWNERS in the Community who have a verifiable voting right. Failure to do so would likely negate any results.

Totally support this request - the young kids love playing in this area, we should formally designate it a park
