We, in Des Moines, IA, are petitioning to get a park at the intersection of Park Avenue and SE 22nd street. The kids of our neighborhood don\'t have any places to hang out or play. They just stay inside and watch TV. If we could get a park there, kids would meet other kids their age and would be active. Adults would be able to converse without worrying of their kids getting in trouble. It works out for everybody. If we can get enough signatures, we might be able to get a loan and start the construction. We have passed out flyers and slips in our neighborhood. We tried to find out who owns the land, with no luck so far. Every place we went to online you have to subscribe to. All of them require a credit card, the only problem is we don\'t have credit cards, and our budget is zero. We have passed papers out to our schools ( Central and Weeks Middle School) and have gotten 31 signatures the last time I looked. We also passed them out to a radius of at least 1 mile around our houses. We got help from giving friends from weeks to help pass them out.
